Human Rights

The Right to a Voice and to be Heard ’

In our Human Rights Drama workshops we will explore and instill;

Empathy – Children will be asked to recognise other people’s emotions and discuss how their actions can affect others.

Communication and Confidence Skills – Developing confidence in speaking out and the importance of actively listening to each other.

Co-operation – Introducing the idea – ‘Although we are different we are all equal’ -  helping each other through working and playing together.

Respect and Responsibility – Encourage the ‘ positive attitude’ and respect for human rights through learning to respect ourselves, each other, property and the environment.

Conflict Resolution – Looking at situations from different perspectives. We will explore how changing perspective can alter our viewpoint.

After the workshop each teacher is given some further information and ideas to follow-up the work we’ve done in class.
