Associate Artists

Associate Artists are an important aspect to the ethos of Bluepatch. The  Associate Artists of Bluepatch Productions are Actress and Director Andrea Scott and  Songstress and Musician Aisling Quinn.

Andrea Scott is an actor, dancer, director and drama teacher.  She is Artistic Director of Act One Theatre School / Youth Theatre & Floating World Theatre. Andrea has a master’s degree in directing from UCD and has trained with Anne Bogart and SITI Company in New York.  Recent Acting credits include Stevie in The Goat (The Pearse Centre) Duked Productions,“I used to say it was a gold, but it’s a platinum one, Platinum”  (Woman) in Ciara McMahon’s Short Film,  Ann Ballard in Ciara McMahon’s art installation Sidhe (Phizzfest 2010), Celia in Aisling’s Diary (RTE) and for Bluepatch Productions – Faye  in Memory Palace (collaborative project for Galway Theatre Festival ’10) Portia in Portia Coughlan (New Theatre), and Medea Redux (Bernard Shaw Beer Garden, Galway Theatre Festival, Smock Alley Theatre).  As director and teacher Andrea uses Viewpoints & Composition as her primary training tool. Recent Directing credits include Striptease (Focus Theatre) for You and Me Productions. For Floating World Theatre she has directed The Cocktail Party  in Players Theatre and a site-specific piece  Houdini /Conan Doyle. For Act One she has directed: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, DNA, The Chyrsalids, Totally Over You, and Multiplex all in Players Theatre. A Midsummer Night’s Dream was also part of the Trinity Shakespeare Festival 2010.

Irish musician and songstress Aisling Quinn is a regular collaborator and composer for Bluepatch. She has composed the original music for The Clean House (The New Theatre) Portia Coughlan (The New Theatre) *Medea Redux (Smock Alley, Galway Theatre Festival, Bodytonicmusics’s Bernard Shaw) and *Memory Palace (Galway Theatre Festival’10) which she also *performed in. In 2009 Aisling supported Albert Niland and Rosey on their respective Irish tours and in 2010. She has been praised by Hotpress Magazine as “Hot Stuff” and applauded for “avoiding singer/songwriter clichés and offering us something less predictable”. Her debut album ‘Let The Games Begin’ showcases songs which are a quirky and energetic infusion of jazz, pop, folk and blues.  The album has already received international attention with the tracks, ‘When You Come’ and ‘Song I Wrote For You’ receiving semi-finalist status at the prestigious International Songwriting Competition 2009 and 2010 respectively.
