Explore the POSSIBILITIES of Space, Time, Shape, Movement, Logic and Emotion.

This physical improvisation practice focuses on ENSEMBLE COLLABORATION and CREATIVE COMPOSITION.

It promotes creative thinking, physical presence and cultivates a broad spectrum of EXPRESSION in the moving body.

The 9 viewpoints provide participants with an extensive vocabulary to CREATE, CONNECT and PLAY!

It is an experiential, physical and visual language that does not depend on psychology, method or material. SIMPLE in application,Viewpoints encourages a VISCERAL exploration of one’s world in ever-increasing detail!

We offer  Theatre-in-education workshops to primary and secondary school groups around Ireland. The workshop is a fun and energetic mix of in-depth discussion, role-play, forum theatre and drama games. Participants exchange ideas and share experiences in a specific themed / issue based workshop as directed by the school.  Throughout this workshop we develop critical thinking, teamwork skills and positive self-expression.The Drama workshop is an introductory to stagecraft, physical improvisation and creative storytelling

.

Our Acting Workshops explore the craft of acting with particular attention on the actor’s creative abilities. It is a holistic approach to performance that incorporates exercises in improvisation, movement, voice and script work. Students will be introduced to different techniques and practices such as Michael Chekhov and Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints. These workshops are open to all levels of experience and can be delivered in-house to theatre companies, community groups and drama schools.

The Viewpoints Workshop is a physical movement workshop exploring the nine viewpoints of space and time; Tempo, Duration, Kinesthetic Response, Repetition, Shape, Gesture, Architecture, Topography and Spatial Relationship; as articulated by Anne Bogart. Aoife Connolly & Andrea Scott of  ViewpointsIreland  regularly run eight week courses for a broad range of creative artists and individually offer bespoke workshops to Transition Year groups, Youth Theatres, Drama Colleges and Community Groups. GTF Auditions

Dragonfly Theatre in collaboration with Bluepatch Productions are looking for actors – one male, one female – late twenties upwards for a new-one act play being staged as part of Galway Theatre Festival 2011

Auditions will take place on Tues 20th September
